The Professional Football Compensation Committee have made a decision over the compensation that Leyton Orient will receive from Burnley after Porter rejected a new contract with the O’s in favour of a move to Turf Moor.
The terms are as follows:
- Burnley will pay Orient an initial fee on £90,000
- In addition to this, Burnley will pay Orient £17,500 after every appearance milestone (15 games, 30 games, 45 games, 60 games). Therefore this compensation could potentially total £70,000 if Porter makes 60 appearances for Burnley.
- Should Burnley be promoted to the Premier League within the next three seasons, Orient will recieve a further £100,000 if Porter remains at Burnley and makes a minimum of 23 appearances during the promotion season.
- If Burnley sell Porter for a profit at any point in the future Leyton Orient will receive 16.5% of the money made.
