David Mooney has agreed a new two year contract with Leyton Orient. The Irish striker joined the O’s in July 2011 and during his first season with the club he scored eight goals in 42 games.
Last term proved to be more successful for Mooney as he notched 13 goals in 42 appearances. In November the 28 year-old embarked on a goalscoring run of ten goals in 12 games, culminating in Mooney grabbing a last minute winner goal against Yeovil to take the O’s through to the JPT area final.
Mooney missed the last four games of the 2012/13 season due to an ankle injury.
During his time at the club Mooney has also played a role in many community projects. He received the Community Player of the Year Award in 2012 and an Outstanding Achievement Award in 2013.
