Michael Symes has joined Burton Albion on a permanent deal. The 29 year old spent the second half of last season on loan at the Pirelli Stadium where he managed to score four goals in 16 appearances, helping the Brewers to reach the League Two playoff places.
Symes arrived at Brisbane Road last summer, but he struggled to establish himself in the side. The Everton trainee made 18 appearances in an Orient shirt but he managed to find the net on just two occasions. He scored a penalty in the 3-1 defeat to Tranmere on the opening day of the League One season and his other goal also came from the spot in the 0-3 win over Northampton Town in the JPT in December.
Symes had a year remaining on his Leyton Orient contract. Russell Slade has revealed that he intends to add to his attacking options ahead of the new season.
